Your crib or mine?

First night in the crib
We talked and chatted about when would be the right time to move Carson out of our room and into his crib. We talked to the pediatrician about it and he recommended trying it out now, see how it goes. So on January 17, 2010, I did it. Monitor on, as loud as the speaker could go, I placed him in his crib to dream of his "fishies". hehe..
Of course, I was upset, just like every other moment passing by in his life. Not so much about him being away in the other room, but that another phase of his life just ended and a new began. Soon, his pack n play will be put away and brought out for travels. It really is going by too fast.
Well, just like everything else, he took it like a champ! Went right down, woke up at 3am and then back to sleep.
Night 2. Decided to try it again. Well this night ended up much differently. I woke up to a blood curdling scream in the middle of the night. Poor pumpkin wedged his chunk of a thigh in between the slats and couldn't get it out. Needless to say, he ended up in our bed and went right back to sleep.
Third night: Slept through the night.
Third Morning
Geoffrey went out and bought a "breathable bumper" for Carson. It goes way below the mattress and is very thin. Really, just keeps the limbs inside. It turned out to work GREAT for us. Above is the photo I took of Carson when I went in his room to say Good Morning. He slept through the night!!! I did a double take as I looked at my alarm clock when I woke up.
And again, fourth night, last night. Slept through the night.

Tonight..Ready for bed.

From the day Carson was born, he slept on his back with his hands above his head (like the first pic). Tonight I walked in to check on him, and he was cuddled on his side (above).

We also started putting him down while he was awake, but drowsy. He fusses a bit, but then shortly after, falls sound asleep.

So without ever adding anything into his bottle, without giving him more to eat before bed, my little man decided to sleep through the night, on his own, when he was good and ready. Which is fine by Mommy. I don't want to rush any of this. I'm loving every moment.

Carson's Firsts:
10 weeks he started laughing!!
10/11 weeks he rolled over for the first time from belly to back!
11 weeks he started playing with rattles and toys..
Started sitting in his Bumbo seat with no problems!
**Started putting different tastes to his mouth..So far..Looves Gelato! Nannie put chocolate hazelnut Gelato on his lips and he just made such a wonderful reaction. His eyes got big and he just kept licking his lips...If he could talk I could see him saying, "More Nannie, more!"

Carson had his first Christmas and was completely spoiled by all of our friends and family. Thank you to everyone. :)

New Years Eve we spent with April and Billy at their house, which happens to be right down the street. We had so much fun. Lots of Karaoke! We rang in the New Year with great friends!! Carson missed the ball drop but woke up shortly after. Below is our first family photo of 2010!

I started back to work full time. :( Complete devastation. I miss him every moment that I am not with him. The light at the end of my tunnel is I am only working right now, so I don't have to in the next year or two. Then, the plan is to either work a couple of days a week or if we have another, not at all. Carson is my life, I hate being without him. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure I can be with him and share in his life and not just at night and on the weekends.

We are very lucky because Carson has his Grandpa (Geoff's dad) watch him 2 days a week and my friend, Nicole's mom, Cathy, watches him 3 days a week.

Amazing Newborn!

Carson and I started taking Amazing Newborn classes at Nova Southeastern University on January 9, 2010. What fun!!! We do belly time, songs and touch all of Carson's senses. He loves it!!! The first class, Nannie came with us to watch all the fun. I'm pretty sure she really enjoyed it. This past class, my friend Nicole came with us as a prospective enrollee for when her baby girl arrives soon. We loved having her there with us!
It's not so much of a Mommy and Me class because there are sooo many fathers there. I love to see such involved fathers. Can't wait until Geoffrey can go and share in the fun with us.
Class is once a week. At the end of the series of classes, when Carson is in the 9-12 month old group, they have a graduation. I saw photos from my friend, Nicole's daughter. They are soo adorable. They walk across a little staircase with a cap. I already started crying just thinking of it.
On to the next month..Can't believe my Angel is going to be 4 months old!
You can enjoy many more firsts and events that took place in Carson's 3 Months in his photo albums. I document everything for everyone to enjoy and add new albums all the time. Enjoy!!
