Today.
Today, all I want to do is hold you. All I want to do is walk with you, hand in hand. Today, all I want to do is listen to you talk, hold a conversation with you, ask you questions and listen to your responses.
Today, all I want to do is watch you play with your trucks and your cars. It is your favorite thing to do. I want to make you lunch, sit with you while you eat. On Sunday, you asked me to sit next to you while you ate your peanut butter and jelly. You even pulled the chair next to you and told me to sit closer. You melt my heart.
Today, I want to take you to the park. I want to watch you smile and laugh when you go down the slide and laugh when I pretend that you knock me over on the swing.
Today, I want to watch you fly by me on your scooter as you tell me to watch you go "superfast".
Today, I don't want to be a working mom. I want to be your full time mom. One work day and 2 weekend days just aren't enough. I wish there was more time, to watch you, be you. To listen and enjoy your sweet toddler moments.
Today, all I want to do is be with you. Your my angel.

Love Love Love
Mommy: Carson, you have my heart
Carson: You have my heart, Mommy. Who has Daddy's heart?
Mommy: You have Daddy's heart.
Carson: No, Mommy, you have Daddy's heart.
Children learn by what they see, not what you always tell them. The love and respect that you show one another is an irreplaceable value that your children will carry with them for years to come.

And, here it is.
August 2012, Carson started preschool. Another big big moment. He shined, as always. No tears, at least from Carson. I, on the other hand, had tears streaming down my face. Geoff and I stood there as our little baby waved goodbye and walked right into his classroom with 7 other classmates and 2 teachers. He LOVES preschool. We've had a wonderful experience at his school and we are looking forward to many more.
For Carson's 3rd Birthday, we went to Orlando and celebrated with Mickey Mouse and the gang. We had a memorable weekend. Our cousins, Lori and David, along with my mom and dad joined Carson, Geoffrey and I.
At 3 years old, Carson was 30lbs and 38 1/4 inch tall. Our pediatrician checked Carson's vision and said it was excellent. He was impressed how Carson understood the questions and was able to provide the responses that he did at his age.
Carson also had his first teeth cleaning!! Did wonderful.
**Carson right now moment** He comes over to me and sits in my lap and asks what I am doing on the computer? I told him I am writing about him. He snuggles on me after that and here he sits**
November, 2012 we took Carson to his first Nascar race. That was awesome. Not sure if it was more awesome to see Geoff's face light up with excitement that his son was as enthused as he was or what. But I can tell you, Carson has a need for speed.
December 2012 and January 2013, we had an eventful holiday season. Christmas came and went with a brand new 2 wheel bike with training wheels waiting for Carson under our tree. This really was over within a quick moment because we started packing just after Christmas. We FINALLY sold our first home. This was a major transition for Carson and he handled it better than I did. The new home is much bigger than the old home and I think that helped alot. I miss the memories, but I love having the space. And I LOVE our neighborhood.
That brings us up to date. I am absolutely positive there are many things that I missed, but every single moment is captured on film. My memory is through my photos and if I ever lose it, I will lose my sanity. I capture every smile, unplanned laughter and sweet moment. When I am old and grey and really can't remember anything, I will look back on the photos and smile in the happiness that is shown through my photos.
Things that make Carson, Carson: He likes to bake and cook. Yes, they are two totally different things. He is artsy. Enjoys painting and crafting. Likes to put puzzles together. He is consumed with Hot Wheels and Monster Trucks. I think he has over 50 of each and knows each and every one that he has. Sometimes we will go through his Hot Wheels and sort through which ones are his and which ones are Nannie's. He knows exactly which are which. They are all the same to me. ha! He still likes fishing, boating, beach, etc. I think those are things that will always be a part of him because that is how we are.
March 2013, we converted Carson's toddler bed to a full size bed. Best decision we ever made, hands down. He has been out of our bed ever since. Hallelujah! Although, I do miss his snuggles and welcome them if he comes in early in the morning and climbs into bed. He's just so snuggly. And so another milestone passed.
Life is enjoyable, even with the bumps in the road, the sleepless nights, the coughs and colds here and there, it is a pleasure being Carson's mom. I am honored.
Our lives are constantly on the go. At Geoff's request, I have really made a point to slow things down, but it just seems if its not one thing, its another. There have been many dinners we have turned down, along with birthday parties, etc. Being two full time working parents, our time together is a priority and our time alone with Carson comes first. It is irreplaceable.
Because this has always been my baby book, my memory logger, as much as I wanted to close it down and planned on closing it down, I love writing about my little angel to much to do that. Let's face it, in a time where everything is done on the computer, the access to write about him and jot something down is just to convenient to turn down.
At Geoff's request, my Picasa photos are private, but I try to privately email them to family when I can remember to do so. When I became a mother, I signed away my memory.
So, now I need to update my banner on the blog and change some things around, because the baby I wrote about is no longer. My baby is a walking, talking, intelligent, loving, BIG boy.

Tantrums...A Parent's Nightmare
It started out like any other evening, other than we just came from a very mind stimulating event, the Rodeo. There was a lot going on, the horses, the kids, the new faces, a lot for a little toddler’s mind to take on.
We got home a little later than usual and Daddy went to take Carson’s sneakers off and unleashed the beast. I thought maybe it would just be a simple, “I don’t want you to take my shoes off, I want them back on” kind of whine. It turned into screaming and falling on the floor in frustration. This was our first, all out, over tired, stimulated, full speed ahead temper tantrum.
I let him go for a bit, but the later it got, I knew he needed to go on the potty and get in for a quick shower. It took the two of us to try and get Carson’s clothes and diaper off and two of us to wash him up, all the while he was screaming and kicking. Geoff had to hold him so he wouldn’t hurt himself.
I came to the point where I mentally removed myself from the situation and asked, where as a first time parent do I stop and let him sleep in dirty clothes, sweaty body, all for the shear fact of not letting him go through this tantrum and letting him be. I wanted an answer to fall in my hands, What do I do?
Just like we do with adults, we need to pick and choose our battles with our children. It seems so much easier with adults, because, well, they are who they are, whatever battle you choose to fight or not, isn’t going to shape them into a different person (although sometimes I wish it would).
We are responsible for Carson’s upbringing and shaping him into a responsible, loving adult. Wow, is there a bigger task on the face of this planet? All of this thought process coming from this one experience.
The battles were laid out in front of Geoff and I last night, we chose to fight that one and lovingly explain to Carson that Mommy and Daddy love him and its bath time, everything is ok. I don’t know if we picked the right the battle or not, I guess I won’t know. I do know, once I finally dried him off and got the diaper on; he squeezed around my neck and just wanted to be held.
We haven’t experience this in public yet and I hope we never do, I sure hope to not ever go through this again, for Carson’s sake and ours. Although after this experience, if I ever see a mother or father going through this, I think I will definitely give them a pat on the back and let them know, they aren’t alone and they are doing the very best job that they can do.
Cheers! (letting out a big siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh, thank goodness that’s over)

Project: BIG BOY BED
I was hesitant about writing this blog, as to not jinx myself. Well, here goes nothing...
A letter to my Angel:
Dear Carson,
You have inhabited Mommy and Daddy's bed for quite some time now. People told us we were crazy. "You'll never get him out" they said. We have endured our fair share of opinions on you sleeping with us.
The snuggles, the snuggles are incomparable. You slept on our schedule. You went to bed with us and woke up with us. Vacations..a breeze. No need for a crib, rollaway, pack n play, you were right there with us. Now don't get me wrong, we tried to do the traditional, put you in your crib, cry it out and go to sleep. You refused the crib since you could pull yourself up, which happened way to early at 6 months! To sum it up, it wasn't happening.
It was never a problem before, you sleeping with us, however, it seems that you grew overnight. To top that off, you like to sleep sideways and your feet always end up in my face. That being said, Mommy and Daddy agreed, it is time you get your own bed.
The box came in on June 17, 2011. You checked it out, looked at it and were off on your way. When Daddy came home, you helped him pull the box in your room and assemble your new big boy bed. (Daddy wouldn't let me post photos, but they will be in your book). You slept with us that night and in the morning I woke up and said, "that's it, no more". I was on the EDGE of the king size bed, Daddy was on the other EDGE of the king size bed and you were sprawled out in the middle, sideways again....sleeping very contently.
Here we go: Nap time..I rocked you to sleep, put you down in your bed and you stayed down for an hour.
Bed time: I rocked you to sleep and you slept until 5am! Then we snuggled ;-) You didn't have time to go sideways in 3 hours.
Next day, nap time:.I rocked you to sleep and again, you stayed down for about an hour or so.
Bed time: You stayed in your bed, however, we had some bumps. I ended up sleeping on your floor and Daddy came in and found me at 5am. Rough day for Mommy on Monday.
Monday night: You went down around 930 and slept until 730am!! That's my boy!
You've got it Carson. I'm so proud of you. Your growing up overnight. You look like a little boy when your sleeping in your big boy bed. You were ready, you proved it to us. It was time!
With your dogs by your side checking on you constantly in your bed, your baby days in the crib are a thing of the past. Another milestone checked off with many more to come.
Love you my sweet Angel. Love you Forever.
