We've got a kicker!

So for the past couple of weeks, I've been able to feel the baby's movements, but I've been the only one that could feel them.
I've been waiting to be able to feel it from the outside of my belly. At work today, after a large glass of orange juice, the baby routinely started kicking. So I placed my hand where he was kicking and then it happened. I felt it! And then it happened again. I'm going to plant Geoff on the couch after I drink or eat something with sugar, so he could feel his son, the kickboxer. :)

1/2 way there

20 weeks marks my half way point. Can't believe I've made it this far. Some things have changed in the past couple of weeks, besides my growing belly. I've started having lower back pain. It is not consistent, but definitely noticeable when I am on my feet.

My hunger has been uncontrollable. If I don't have small snacks throughout the day, I get so hungry that I get ravenous. I don't think Geoff is very fond of the person I become when I don't eat. He gives me this look that could kill. Although he has nothing on my look if someone crosses my path at that very moment. It's almost vampirish, if my eyes could turn red, they would. ha!

I can feel the baby move all the time now. The baby goes crazy for anything with sugar. He is very active early in the morning. I can't wait until Geoff can place his hand on my belly and feel the baby moving.

I've noticed a change in my pack lately (Turbo Diesel and Tuna). The cat is still the same, cat's rule and dogs drool. Tuna has changed the most since I have been pregnant. When I lay on the couch, she comes over and lays her head on my belly or she curls up against my belly. Turbo and Diesel have been more cautious around me. Turbo doesn't jump on me anymore, which I would like to say that it is because of my training, but I know it is not. They have both been very cuddly and loving with me, especially in the past month. I've read that the dogs can detect the baby's heartbeat and they instinctly know to protect.

Geoff and I are still going back and forth on names. At least the middle name is picked. So it's __________ Martin Ellison. Who knew it would be so hard. Geoff doesn't like Liam anymore because he figured out that it spells, "mail" backwards. haha. Only Geoff.

We just got back from the beautiful keys for our annual Memorial Day vacation. It was amazing and we were lucky to have gorgeous weather. I went shark fishing for the first time. I loved it and I can't wait to go again. 5 months pregnant, nothing holds me down!

And of course, as soon as we get back from the Keys, I get sick. I have a horrible cold and just hope that this goes away very very soon.

I have a Dr's appointment and another ultrasound next week, so we will see what the doctors say. Until then, have a good week!

More test results

So the nurse just called at Southeast Perinatal Associates. My blood work came back from the chromosome testing. This blood test was done to see if it was a chromosomal issue that caused the last 2 miscarriages. My test results came back normal. It looks like the past 2 pregnancies were not chromosome related. My previous Dr never checked my progesterone levels with the first 2 pregnancies. My new Dr believes that I miscarried because my progesterone was too low, which is all apart of the PCOS. With the third pregnancy, he put me on progesterone immediately and everything has been fine since.

I still get upset because maybe if my previous Dr would have checked my progesterone levels the first time, maybe I never would have had to go through those horrible miscarriages.

Who knows. The only thing I can go by, is that there is a reason for everything. Stay positive and things eventually work themselves out in the end.

Boys names....

Who would have ever thought it would be this hard to pick a boys name. As many of you may already know, I've been emailing Geoff names since the day we found out it was going to be a boy. He shot every single one down. Of course. And many of you have sent name suggestions, which he also shot down. ha! Well last night I mentioned a name to him and he didn't say no! I was so excited. I kept repeating the name over and over again, and I really like it. Keep in mind, this is just one of the contenders, we still have 6 months to go, so there is plenty of time to find another one that we love. So for now, the 1st contender is.......

LIAM MARTIN ELLISON
Liam I found googling through the million baby names on the computer. It was actually under the "cool names" section on one of the gazillion websites that I looked at. Martin is my poppi's last name (my mom's dad). It is actually my brother's middle name and my cousin's middle name. I always knew what I wanted the middle name to be if it was a boy, it was just finding a first name.

AN ISLAND BOY IT IS!

An Island Boy on the way!

After much anticipation, the results are in. Geoffrey and I will be having a baby boy in October! The nurse came in the office to do the sonogram and asked us if we wanted to know the sex. As soon as she started waving the wand, she stopped and said, "It's a boy!" I just kept repeating it over and over, "I'm having a boy, I'm having a boy." I think I was just in disbelief. Then the Dr came to do another detailed sonogram. As the wand starts waving, he says, "It's still a boy, " and then again, "yep it's a boy." It was obvious there was no doubt and it was even more obvious how happy Geoff was. He just sat there with a huge grin on his face. Our baby boy weighs approx. 6 ounces, which is perfect for his age.

The Dr has decided to do some more blood tests to see why I miscarried the 2 times before this pregnancy. They are testing to see if it was a chromosomal problem or just a fluke.

I also had my visit at the OB today. So, I have gain 2 lbs in 4 months. I was a bit concerned, but my Dr was not concerned at all. He said I am right where I should be and after 20 weeks the weight will probably go on alot more. So that belly of mine that is starting to grow, is all baby.

It wasn't until today that everything has felt so completely real. All my fears have started to subside. Hearing my OB tell me I am in perfect health and the perinatologist telling me that the baby is in perfect health, I couldn't be happier.
I laugh talking to Geoff, because he is very excited. As we were driving home, I asked him what he thought about everything, and he gazed out the window and responded, "The next IGFA Fishing Champion."
What an amazing anniversary gift , a son!
