Happy Passover

Who found the Afikomen?? Carson did, not really, but that's what his bib says!!

Carson celebrated his first Seder at the Jonas Family Passover, which his Mommy has attended for over 10 years!! He was the youngest one at the table. He had a seat at the end of the table with Mommy and Daddy and watched everyone in awe. Passover at the Jonas house is not your typical Passover. It is soo much fun and very educational! There is singing, tambourines, a goody bag with the 10 plagues, delicious food,wine and GREAT company.

Carson even participated by gnawing on his vegetable in salt water (cucumber) and eating his pureed carrots. Such a good participant.

I even made my first dish for the Seder. I made Peach Farfal. I must say, it was quite delicious!!

One of the ten plagues is the boils. We put the stickers all over to represent the boils. He had no choice.. hehe

After all the fun, games, food and laughs, Carson was pooped! No better place to sleep then on the shoulder of your Daddy..

My Little Skipper

On Sunday, March 28, 2010, Carson became the little boater we knew he would be. We decided to just cruise the intercoastal, Carson definately is not ready to cruise the Atlantic yet. Packing for the boat wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I can't wait for it to be warm so we can get him in the water.

The Morgan Family joined us on the boat and we are so glad they were able to come. Uncle Jeremy came along as well for Carson's first boat ride.

We went to Bahia Cabana for a nice relaxing lunch. Enjoyed Rum Runners and Bloody Mary's and Carson slept the entire way there. He was in his comfort zone. He remembered the swaying of the boat from Mommy's belly.

After lunch, we cruised the intercoastal and headed to Whiskey Creek at John U. Lloyd State Park. Carson was wide awake for this ride and I think he thoroughly enjoyed the view, from a "darker" view with his shades on.

He even got to stand up with the boys and look over the side.

Driving must have been the best part of the day. He is so little, he put his feet on the bottom of the steering wheel and held on the top. As Daddy steered the boat, Carson just went side to side with him. It was hysterical. He's a natural, ready to go boating with Daddy and the boys.

At Whiskey Creek, we let the boys play in the freezing water and exert their pent up energy. They were so good on the boat. When I asked the boys if the water was cold, they replied with shivering, blue lips, "Nooooooooo". Having Travis and Chase there, reminded me how much fun boys are. Makes me even more excited for the future with our little man.

To end our wonderful day, we took Carson to the beach at John U. Lloyd. I sat him on the towel, but that didn't last long. He pulled the towel up and reached for the sides, going straight for the sand. I watched his hand dig into the sand and then straight towards the mouth with an interception by Mommy. Beach days this summer are going to be interesting.

5 Months Old

New album: Carson 5 months and new photos in Amazing Newborn.

So I am finally getting around to Carson's 5 month blog post. We have been so busy lately and I just haven't gotten a chance to get on here.

Weight: 16lbs 12 oz - 61st percentile
Height: 27 inch long - 90th percentile
Sleeps from 8/830 until about 700. I love it!

Foods: We've had them all.. Peas, Sweet Potatoes, Squash, green beans, carrots, bananas, pears, peaches.
Not a fan of green beans, but does very well with everything else. He is such a good eater.

From 4-5 months, we celebrated Mommy's 29th birthday, Daddy's 30th Birthday and Valentines Day.

Carson did very well at his 5 Month check up. Dr. Morrison even gave him the "advanced stamp". Carson was sitting up on the table for the dr to check his ears, eyes and mouth. He said most 5 month olds aren't sitting up on their own as well as he is. Also, he was impressed that Carson has mastered rolling over in both directions. He said we may want to consider lowering the crib mattress soon. I told him the other day, Carson was sitting in the pack n play while I was getting ready and he was sitting up and he grabbed the side and pulled himself over. I told him how our house isn't baby proofed yet and he said that is definately something we may want to start doing, as Carson may be mobile very soon.

He got his polio vaccine at his 03/09 appointment. He did very well, gave a little whine and that was all. Thank goodness because last time was torture for Carson , Geoff and I.

Teeth: He didn't see anything, just the two little white bulbs on his gums. Said he doesn't expect teeth right now, but maybe by 6 months. Once he gets his first tooth, we are to start using flouride water when making his bottles, i.e., Nursery water or we can use tap water.

I told him that we switched over to Costco brand formula and he said that is perfectly fine, its all the same.

On to the next month..Can't believe he is going to be 6 months old.. Crazy how time flies..

Happy 30th Birthday Geoffrey

This weekend we went to Orlando to celebrate Geoffrey's 30th Birthday. We had a great group of friends with us and family also. My mother, both of my brothers, Joey and Brad and our 12 year old cousin, Dylan joined us.

Our thoughts and prayers were with our very dear friend, Zack, this weekend, who had to say goodbye to his mom, too soon. xoxo

What an experience packing. We've taken trips here and there, but 90% of the time, its just Geoffrey and I in the truck and Carson. We had my mom and Dylan this time. I had to borrow my friend's luggage container for the top of my truck. The family truck. Of course, I took a photo..Check it out in the album. Couldn't pass that up.

Friday night, I would have liked to have said we were well rested and ready for Saturday at Epcot, but that would be lying. I didn't get to bed until 3, Geoffrey and some of the guys crawled in after 4 and everyone else scattered to their rooms before that.

Saturday we were up, injected with coffee and we headed out in the freezing drizzle. Not only was it about 40 degrees, there was also a light drizzle of rain. Carson was the best out of all of us. In his stroller with the rain cover and blankets..He was good to go. My mom bought me a sweater when we got to Epcot, because it was just plain freezing. England was our first country and when we were done there, the rain stopped and it was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous!! Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful...

We drank in every country and got back to the room around 900/930.

Next day, M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E!! Lesson learned..No more Magic Kingdom on the weekend. No, No, No...Had a great time. I took Carson on It's a Small World, and he fell asleep. But then, Geoffrey and I split off, and I took Carson on the Magic Carpet Ride. Loved it!! It's similiar to Dumbo, just with magic carpets. I could look and see the smile on his face when the wind hit him. His little hairs on his head were flying as we went up and down. Such a trooper!!

Carson got his first pair of Mickey Ears. Personalized and all!!

Finally left Disney around 6. Normally we would have been home around 845/900. No. Carson had a different plan for us.

He didn't nap well like he did in Epcot. There was so much going on in Magic Kingdom. He screamed in the car and screamed and screamed and SCREAMED. Dylan was trying to calm him down, my mom..No go. We had to pull over, twice, so I could hold him and calm him down. All in all, we made it home.

Thanks to everyone that came from near and far (Ungerleiders) to celebrate Geoffrey's 30th Birthday!!! Can't wait to do it again.. Next time Zack will be joining us... ;)

4 Months

4 Months Old

Height: 26 1/4 inch 90th percentile
Weight: 15lbs 5 oz 60th percentile
Zzz's: Sleeps from 930pm-630/700 am!! Wooohoo!

Our little man is growing so fast. Already, 4 months old! And in that time, he has accomplished so much. The pediatrician told us at his checkup that he is the average size of a 6 month old!! Whew!! We've created a monster.

Carson is a regular in his crib every night. Sleeping is a new habit of his and he does it so well. This makes for a very happy Mommy and Daddy.

We got the go ahead from the pediatrician to start with solids. We started with oatmeal. We are going to skip the cereal completely since he really doesn't need it, as the pediatrician said. Most people I guess put the cereal in the bottle or give cereal at night to help baby sleep. Since he is already sleeping through the night, we just skipped what we call "the filler".

Geoff has been waiting for this stage since Carson was born. It was very interesting. We probably shouldn't have started the day after he received 3 more vaccines, but all in all, it was a successful feeding. Next week we are going to introduce squash! Yum Yum!

We also went to his first baseball game. We went to watch Geoff's friend's son play last Thursday night. Carson was so alert to everything going on. Watching the little boys out there makes me so excited that Carson will be getting his first bat and glove to go play. In a blink of an eye.

Next on the list..Our sweet shopping cart cover, compliments of Auntie Shanaynay! He was so cute. No one could believe that a 4 month old was sitting in the cart by himself. All he wanted to do, as you can see in the photo, is play with the strap. He was so amazed by this strap.

That being said, the bumbo makes for a great seat for Carson now that he can hold himself up. I can just prop him up wherever we are. It is wonderful.

And that being said, he is very brave. Tries to sit up on his own, without any support. He does what we call, The Tripod! But hey, it's a start. One thing will always lead into another. Someone should really remind him that he is only 4 months old!

We took Carson to the beach for the first time, February 5, 2010. Ft. Lauderdale beach had a HUGE Super Bowl sign up, so we went to go see it.

Last, but definitely not least, TEETHING! Carson, without a doubt, has started teething. The 2 photos below in the teething outfit are compliments of Miss Cathy! Cathy is watching Carson on M, W and F and sends me the BEST emails "from Carson" with adorable photos of him. Momma and Poppa Jonas bought him the CUTEST teething outfit. I really should never have a girl, given the fact that Carson has an outfit for EVERYTHING, and he is a boy. If we had a girl, BIG TROUBLE!

Carson loves the teething rings, however, we have found that nothing soothes him better than his own fist (below a picture that I took at Nannie and Poppa's on the couch). The pediatrician told us that teething can go on for months. Augh!! Hopefully for Carson, this first tooth will break soon.

And this, I do not have a photo of. Carson FOUND HIS VOICE. I apologize now to my neighbors, Miss Cathy and Paul (Grandpa). He likes to scream, for no apparent reason. He screams, then looks around to see who is looking at him, then lets another scream out. Turbo runs over to him and licks him every time he does it and then Carson laughs. It's so funny. I will lay him down to change his diaper and it's just babbles and screaches the entire time. I love it!

We still go to Amazing Newborn at NSU every week. I love it!! 2 weeks ago was grandparents week and my mom (Nannie) and Paul (Grandpa) came along. Last week, I dragged Geoffrey to class. He didn't enjoy it as much as I did, but I am glad he came with us. He wasn't a huge fan of song time. Ha!!

Carson and I shared a celebration recently. When he turned 4 months old, I also turned 29!! Augh! Last year of my 20's! Well, I am not upset at all. If my thirties are as much fun as my twenties have been, we have an exciting road ahead!!!

So far in the past 4 months, I have learned..I never realized how much my parents love my brothers and I, until I had a child of my own. No matter what Carson could ever do, I will endlessly love him. It is a love completely unknown until you have a child of your own. Such an amazing feeling.
